Kundayi Masanzu

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law from the University of Swaziland, a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Masters in Law (specialising in Intellectual Property Law) from the University of California, Berkeley.

He has been involved in the arts and culture sector since 2006 when he began doing consulting work with an IP law firm in Johannesburg that involved developing licensing agreements and handling copyright infringement matters for clients within this sector. He was the director of the Academic and Non-Fiction Authors’ Association of South Africa from 2008 – 2014, during which time he represented the interests of content creators within the book industry and saw the conclusion of the first industry blueprint on fair licensing agreements between publishers and authors.

Eversince then he has continued conducting IP research and carrying out consulting work for this sector, largely assisting artists in managing and commercializing their intellectual property by developing licensing agreements. With over 10 years copyright law experience in the arts and culture sector Kundayi brings with him a wealth of knowledge on how to better manage and commercialise intellectual property.
